Philippe Courtay’s career in aviation has been both dynamic and rewarding. After earning both a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from Florida Atlantic University, his journey began in the yachting industry. However, in April 1999, a new opportunity emerged—joining B&B Marketing, a supplier of expendable aircraft parts. At the time, it was a small operation consisting of just the owner and one additional team member (Philippe). From day one, the industry proved to be both exhilarating and full of potential.

As B&B Marketing grew, so did its opportunities. In 2012, the company was acquired by Magellan Aviation Group and rebranded as Magellan Expendables, marking the start of an exciting new chapter. Becoming part of a larger organization provided a chance to refine skills, expand expertise, and contribute on a greater scale. As Director of Programs for Magellan Expendables, the focus remains on building strong relationships with partners, sourcing critical aviation parts, and ensuring a seamless procurement process from suppliers around the world. The challenge of identifying and securing high-quality materials keeps the work engaging and fulfilling.

One of the greatest advantages of joining Magellan for Philippe has been the people. The company fosters a culture of collaboration, mentorship, and knowledge-sharing, creating an environment where professionals can thrive. Colleagues bring deep industry experience, and their dedication has helped establish Magellan as a trusted leader in the aviation aftermarket sector. The support and expertise within the organization have been instrumental in career growth and professional development.

Outside of work, Philippe values time with his wife, Renee, and their son. He enjoys photography, running, and hiking—activities that provide relaxation and a sense of adventure. Whether it’s an early morning run on a scenic trail, a challenging hike in the mountains, or discovering photographic gems, Philippe embraces the opportunity to push boundaries, find inspiration in nature, and create lasting memories with his family.

For those considering a career at Magellan, Philippe’s advice is simple: embrace challenges, learn from those around you, and invest in personal growth. The aviation industry is constantly evolving, and Magellan offers an environment where ambition and hard work are recognized and rewarded. With many more opportunities ahead, contributing to Magellan’s continued success is an exciting adventure.
